Arizona Archives Alliance assisting the State Archives

In 2011, the Arizona Archives Alliance provided funding for the purchase of 6 PEM2 Dataloggers from the Image Permanence Institute for the Arizona State Archives building.  The PEM2 Dataloggers are used in hundreds of heritage collections in North America and Europe for monitoring the quality of their preservation environments and for HVAC efficiency monitoring and energy management.  These dataloggers feature high accuracy monitoring of temperature and relative humidity in the archive storage area and they are designed to be very easy to use with no setup or user-installed software.  Archive staff at the state archive can now view, store, and report data at a free Image Permanence Institute website.  With a ten year battery life, the PEM2 Dataloggers provide the Polly Rosenbaum Archive building with an accurate, inexpensive, and easy to use system to make sure that the valuable material is housed in an environment that will ensure long life for these important documents, photographs and film.

In 2012, AzAA is planning to contribute another $1,500 for much needed equipment at the Polly Rosenbaum State Archives Building.  To contribute towards these worthwhile projects please follow the PayPal link, or send a check to: AzAA, State Archives Assistance Fund.
